The CWEA was founded in 1958 by a group of concerned residents who were determined to keep this historic neighborhood from the fate that befell so many beautiful U. S. cities after World War II.  The mission of the CWE Association is to enhance and maintain the the CWE as a desirable and diverse urban neighborhood.

I’m pleased to report that the annual Central West End Association’s Spring House Tour was a great success this past weekend.  It featured six historic CWE homes on the 5000 and 5100 blocks of Westminster Place, along with the historice Tuscan Temple and First Church of Christ Scientist at the east  end of the 5000 block.

I’m pleased to report that real estate activity in the Central West End (CWE) is off to a much better start in 2013 as compared to 2012.  Amy and I have seen a marked decrease in CWE residential real estate inventory over the past few months, both in single-family homes and in condominiums.  We have also noted an increased feeling of optimism among buyers, bolstered by record-low mortgage rates and excellent values in CWE houses, townhomes, mansions, lofts, condos and co-op apartments.  The net result is that CWE properties, especially in zip codes 63108 and 63112, are selling with fewer da
